"A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of hands..."
Proverbs 24:33
As someone that spent a lot of time on the farm, one thing I know very well is how quick and fast weeds sneak up on you. If you don't take action faster to identify and control the weed, they overcrowd and infest the whole place.
The word for today is ACT FAST. Take note of that which needs your attention and take action now, not tomorrow.
A little wound, if left unattended, is an invitation for infection.
A little fire brings down the whole house.
A tiny negative thought, if not caught, corrupts the mind.
A little fear cripples.
A little yeast leavens the whole lump.
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little slumber, and poverty pounces.
Everything that grows, whether good or bad, always start from little. It all starts with a seed sown intentionally or unintentionally. Acting fast then is to make sure the unwanted seeds do not take root. It is to be attentive and alert to take immediate action to stop the situation from escalating.
ThankGod we have the Holy Spirit to stir our hearts and call our attention to these 'little' matters and 'little' sins as they creep in.
When the Spirit stirs, when your attention is called to that little problem and when He gives you instruction on what to do, do not look the other way. Do not dismiss it because it seems inconsequential and harmless. It will not be for long. Act fast to weed it out.
While men slept...
While men fold hands...
While men do nothing...
Disaster sneaks in. Disaster pounces.
Be sober, be vigilant. 1 Peter 5:8.
