THE KINGDOM NEEDS YOU

"So, he trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do you want me to do?" Acts 9:6a

So many things that we seek, but only one thing HE asks us to seek...His Kingdom (Matthew 6:33).

Why is that?

At the end of each day, we slump on our beds after a busy and exhausting day of seeking and chasing after OUR needs and wants.

Is that how it is supposed to be?

Why were we placed on earth? To bid time until the trumpet sounds? To strive for survival until the clarion call?

Just some questions to chew on.

It's mid-year, and as we are taking stock of the year so far and planning for the rest of the year, I think it is a good time to reflect on our roles in the Kingdom. A good time to truly examine how involved or nonchalant we have been with matters of the Kingdom, and then think, what can I do differently? How can I make a difference? How can I become more involved? What does God need me to do? What can I do for God?

The truth is, God has needs too. Jesus isn't coming back to walk down our streets preaching the gospel and carrying out other kingdom business. God's involvement here on earth is in the totality of the Holy Spirit inside of us believers. All He needs to do here on earth can only be done through us. We are his hands, legs, and mouthpiece here on earth. Put simply, He needs us to move on the earth. The question is, are we going to make ourselves available for him to use? When are we going to start doing his business? Even better, when are we going to step up and make His business our business?

Besides the one mission of winning souls that God has given to every believer, there are countless other things He needs us to do for Him and for His people. Your role in Kingdom advancement may not involve going to Nineveh (as in Jonah's case). He may simply need you to talk to a co-worker, go the extra mile with that neighbour, volunteer at the soup kitchen, help plan an outreach, or donate to a missions fund etc. There is so much to be done!

I implore you today to make yourself available. Seek to be useful to God. I can't stress enough that serving God and being useful to His kingdom doesn't have to be or involve something extraordinary, rare and overly spiritual. You don't need to wait for a special call. Wherever you are, there is an opportunity right there to be a light, to serve God and bring Glory to His name. Yes, even while at work and while carrying out your everyday tasks and performing our various roles and responsibilities in society.

God needs you.

His kingdom needs you

There is work to do.

Will you make yourself available for God to use? Will you make your resources available for Him to use? Will you make your time available for Him to use?

What is holding you back?
